Condo Insurance

condo insurance

More people than ever are living in condos, especially in downtown Toronto and urban centres around the GTA. A lot of people think they’re covered by their condo corporation insurance, but this isn’t the case. The insurance fees condo owners pay as part of their monthly maintenance goes towards insuring the building and its common elements. That’s it. Unit owners are responsible for insuring their personal property, upgrades to their unit, and should carry liability coverage.

Our condo policies include coverage for just about any situation you may face. Some of these include:

  • Contents – All your stuff including any valuable jewelry, art or collections you might own.
  • Unit betterments and improvements – Like that ultra modern kitchen you had put in.
  • Loss assessment coverage – If your condo corporation incurs a loss they’re not insured for, or is sued, they’ll issue a special assessment to the unit owners. These can be costly and are becoming more common, especially in older buildings.
  • Liability – Accidents happen, a guest could slip and fall, a leaking sink could cause damage to a unit below. Liability insurance covers you for actual or alleged wrong doing.
  • Discounts – can be packaged with auto insurance as well as deep discounts for mortgage free individuals, age, claims free and more!

Home Insurance

Not all policies are equal. All too often we hear stories about people being sunk by low water damage limits. Or a single limit policy that leaves people out in the cold when there’s not enough to pay for full replacement cost or additional living expenses. Our comprehensive homeowner policies get you the coverage you need for a competitive price. Some of our features include:

  • Guaranteed building replacement cost – In the event of a loss we’ll make sure you’re home is rebuilt just the way it was regardless of increasing construction costs.
  • Replacement cost on contents – Most you for stuff isn’t worth now what you originally paid for it. But if something happens you’ll have to replace that 5 year old flat screen TV with a new one, something not all policies allow for.
  • Jewelry & special limits – Is that new engagement ring covered? Maybe not with a standard policy.  We have higher base limits on things like jewelry and can increase or add extensions if needed.
  • Water – One of the most quickly changing types of coverage in Ontario. We have water damage, sewer back-up, and overland flood coverage with higher limits available.
  • Discounts – can be packaged with auto insurance as well as deep discounts for mortgage free individuals, age, claims free and more!

The 15 Cars That Owners Keep for 15 Years or More

Do you remember where you were in 2003? Jean Chretien was the Prime Minister of Canada. In Toronto Mel Lastman was our Mayor, at least for a few more months. Popular films included Love actually, Kill Bill and the critically acclaimed masterpiece The Room.
